Spread Some Good and Chobani Giveaway!

October 23, 2009

You all know about Chobani, the amazing Greek yogurt with all the fun flavors and a healthy serving of protein, don’t you?  I happen to adore Chobani, and it is my favorite Greek yogurt, no question.  Back when I was living in Boston, I would go through several containers a week.  Now that I live in Northwestern PA, I can’t find my favorite yogurt ANYWHERE :(.  Shari and Chobani were so nice, and sent me a whole bunch of yogurt to satisfy my craving!

I immediately tore into the pineapple yogurt which I have been wanting to try for quite some time.

October 2009 243

I usually tend to prefer 0% fat yogurt, but I figured that even though this flavor was 2% I would have to give it a try.  Boy, am I glad I did!  I made a simple yogurt mess with TJ’s trail mix and a little star thistle honey.  I then proceeded to INHALE this.  I think this might be my new favorite flavor!  A lot of yogurts have very fake tasting fruit, but this tasted just like fresh pineapple mixed with yogurt, which is just what it is :).  Sweet, but not too sweet, and tropical!  Yum!

Here’s another thing I love about Chobani, other than the taste.  The mission of the company.  Their motto says it all:

NOTHING BUT GOOD

So not only is their product good, but they do good themselves!  They donate 10% of their profits to charities worldwide supporting a variety of causes.  They also provide a link on their site to help YOU spread some good, sharing volunteer opportunities in your area. Chobani will also takes suggestions for charities or organizations in your area which you think they should support! Send them your ideas!

On the Chobani site, there is a whole slew of pages dedicated to the charities they support.  Now that you have clicked on that link, get ready for the fun part!

Chobani has offered to give one lucky Live, Love, Eat and Play reader their own variety pack of yogurt!  The giveaway includes:

  • 4 peach yogurts

  • 4 blueberry yogurts

  • 4 strawberry yogurts

Sounds good, huh?  I’m making it super easy for you to enter, and giving you several ways to win:

1. Leave a comment telling me which charity you would most like to see 10% of Chobani’s proceeds go to and why.  Vote for that charity on their Spread the Good page!

For the record, I really like Swim Across America, which supports cancer research, prevention and treatment through swimming related events.  As a former swimmer, and a woman concerned with cancer this charity really spoke to me!

2. Tweet about this contest with the following:  Spread the Good!  Chobani giveaway @liveloveeatplay. Leave me a comment letting me know that you have so!

3. Subscribe to or add Live, Love, Eat and Play to your blogroll.  Leave me a comment letting me know you have done so!

4. Link back to this contest on your blog!

5. Spread the good yourself!  Join Project Feed Me and leave a comment telling me you have joined, or let me know that you are already a member.  Help feed hungry families!

The contest ends on October 30.  I will pick a winner some time in the afternoon or evening.  Good luck!

**Sorry to all of my non-U.S. readers, this is only open to U.S. residents.  I do however, encourage you to Spread the Good or join Project Feed Me**

    Orphan Foundation of America.

My brothers and I became orphans fter my mother passed away, and OFA has helped me through college. It would be nice to give back to the people who have literally been like family to my brothers and I when we lost ours.

I voted for EnergyUp! because I think teens really benefit from improved nutrition and fitness. Especially since a lot of them will soon be living away from home, so for the first time, their parents won’t be there to guide them.
