A Sweet Giveaway for the New Year

January 4, 2010

This one’s gonna be short and sweet (lol) but I have a lot more to share coming up.

Nick from Chocomize offered to let me customize my own chocolate bars and I was all over that like white on rice.

I LOVE that Chocomize started out as an accident.  Three recent college graduates put a bag of candy into the fridge because their chocolate had melted on a hot day.  Out came a bag of hardened chocolate, with their nuts, gummy bears and other goodies melted right in.  This delicious treat became the impetus for their company!  The idea is simple-use the most premium chocolates and design and create your own chocolate bar using a variety of nuts, spices, fruits and candies.  Simple and brilliant!

Nick asked me to come up with a few different ideas, and I think I misunderstood him on that one, because he sent me not one, but two bars!  I was thinking something along the lines of a salted caramel for flavor.  I also liked the idea of adding Pop Rocks to the bar, because one of my favorite chocolate bars from Israel is chocolate with Pop Rocks.  I got one milk chocolate bar and one dark chocolate bar, both with sea salt, butterscotch pieces, pop rocks, and toffee pieces.  The milk chocolate one even had a pretty chocolate butterfly on it!

Unfortunately, I’m having some technical difficulties with my camera/computer right now.  I think they are in a fight!  I can’t show you pictures of the chocolates I created, since I’m not tech savvy enough for that, but I will show you some pictures from the Chocomize website, just to make you drool!

Not only were these pretty, but they were GOOD!  I really enjoyed the flavor combinations I chose, and thought the flavors went well together.  Plus, they are just plain good chocolate bars, ones that I would eat without all of the goodies on top!  I have a billion ideas running through my head, and hope to use these for gifts too!

Chocomize has offered to share the sweetness with one of you!  Want to create your own chocolate bar?  There’s 5 ways to win:
